Who We Are

Amy Klein

Outreach & Engagement Coordinator

Amy is our Outreach & Engagement Coordinator, responsible for providing administrative support for our team and for assisting with the identification and recruitment of participants. 

Amy has worked in various capacities in the entertainment industry as well as in the non-profit sector. Most recently, Amy assisted the Executive VP & Chief Development Officer at the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, focusing on donor relations. She holds a special passion for animals and in her spare time volunteers with several animal rescue organizations

Jenny Pazar

Community Outreach Manager

Jenny is our community outreach manager, responsible for recruitment and outreach to competition registrants and participants. Additionally, she works closely with clients and assists with project management and business development. Jenny has past communications experience in the private and public sectors, including PR work for Microsoft’s corporate social responsibility teams and community outreach for local city government. Jenny is passionate about public-private partnerships and using collaboration to help inspire positive change in the world. Jenny earned her MPA degree from Seattle University and BA degree in cultural anthropology from New York University. Her favorite hobby is traveling; Jenny has visited 15 different countries and loves the opportunity to experience and learn from different cultures.

Melissa McVeigh

Senior Developer

Melissa is a talented web developer with seven years of experience crafting applications for a diverse range of clients from large organizations to small businesses and entrepreneurs.  A specialist in front end development, Melissa continues to master her knowledge of the field by exercising best practices and latest technologies in her work. Over nearly a decade in the industry, Melissa has repeatedly flexed her skills in responsive and mobile web development and quickly adapts to new trends introduced in this fast paced industry. Melissa is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Computer Science degree to enhance her strong technical skill set.

Naphtali Marshall

Creative Director

With over a decade of experience in the creative world, Naph’s excitement for the digital industry only continues to grow. He is a very motivated and driven individual with a creative eye. He brings an excitement to each project with the determination to do it right. His goal is never to just “make something look good,” but rather to build brands, develop relationships, and create usable and intuitive designs that inspire. In addition to his award-winning creative work, Naph brings to the table an extensive background in print media, web design and development while specializing in user interface and experience. He has worked in both the B2C and B2B markets nationally. His client background ranges from National Geographic, GE Healthcare, Hefty, Milwaukee Tool, Chicago Tribune, Northwestern University, and Samsung.

Peter Loos

Senior Architect

Peter designs low-cost, high-performance systems for businesses ranging from startups to Fortune 500s. His approach is to focus innovation around business and market needs, foster collaboration across organizational groups, develop actionable roadmaps, and help teams grow durable in-house expertise. In 2001 Peter founded Seabeck Systems LLC to help organizations get and use meaningful information from their data systems, and guide teams through development and implementation of data warehousing and business intelligence programs. His client background includes Iron Mountain Incorporated, DUX Dental, CW Title, Murray Franklin Family of Companies, Law Seminars International, SEI Investments Company, True Blue Incorporated, and Interstate Distributor Company.

Jordan Blumhardt

Prize Administrator

Jordan is one of our technical and administrative support staffers for competitions, and he is responsible for producing informative promotional videos to guide participants in understanding the registration, submission, and judging process. Jordan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Media Production from Pensacola Christian College, and he is currently pursuing his MBA, with a concentration in Marketing, from Southern Columbia University.

Omar Al-Mishwit

Front-End Architect

Focused and self-motivated professional with over a decade of development experience, and 8+ years experience in the logistics and operations management industry. Seasoned entrepreneur, well-versed in team leadership and client relations. Expert in frontend and JavaScript development, deep knowledge of full-stack and actively involved in the open-source community.

Legacy experience includes both support and deployment of high speed internet access and energy management systems. Extensive experience with web-based internal management control systems. Recognized and awarded for excellent quality control and operational cost management during fast-paced company growth.

Lynn VanDeventer

Vice President of Operations

Lynn has worked in the private and public sectors, both leading education reform and community engagement projects for Seattle Public Schools, as well as twenty years as a program manager and senior manager in the software and data management industry. She has delivered multi-million dollar projects on time and within budget. Most recently, she has led project management and research services across a wide range of prize competitions. Lynn oversees the service and support teams and heads operations for the firm.  Lynn earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Iowa.

Shane Eggerman

Chief Technology Officer

Shane is a 20-year veteran of the Information Technology industry, with experience across a diverse group of employers and clients. He has managed and mentored developers for 14 years, but has stayed rooted in the latest technologies by keeping a portion of his schedule devoted to building software. He has a passion for developing great products and believes it is important in one's life to find something you love to do and turn that into a career. His drive comes from making software useful to people while at the same time teaching and learning from others who feel the same way.

Jaison Morgan

Managing Principal

Jaison has been recognized by the BBC as “the world’s expert” in designing prizes to drive innovative breakthroughs. He helped establish a lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to study how targeted rewards can be used to induce new approaches to engineering challenges. As the former head of prize development for the X PRIZE Foundation, he led teams to deliver multiple cash bounties of $10 million or more for solutions to common causes. He has served as an Advisor to the Office of the First Minister of Scotland, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and the government of the United Arab Emirates to counsel their use of challenge competitions for solving large scale public problems. Jaison completed graduate studies at the University of Chicago and is a frequent lecturer on the subject of Incentive Engineering.
